tvOS 26: A Stunning Redesign and Smarter Home Entertainment

Apple has officially announced tvOS 26, bringing a vibrant new design and smarter entertainment features to Apple TV. With the introduction of Liquid Glass, enhanced Apple Music Sing features, and smarter personalization, Apple TV is more immersive than ever.

A Fresh Look with Liquid Glass

tvOS 26 introduces Liquid Glass, a real-time rendered material that reflects and refracts surroundings for a sleek, dynamic UI. It enhances the Apple TV app experience by keeping the focus on what’s playing—even during interactions like fast-forwarding or adjusting settings.

Smarter, Easier Entertainment

The Apple TV app has been redesigned to showcase more content using cinematic poster art. Users can now enjoy quicker access to personalized recommendations with automatic profile switching upon wake. A new developer API also links app logins to Apple Accounts for easier setup across apps.

Sing with iPhone in Apple Music

Apple Music Sing now supports using an iPhone as a microphone, amplifying users’ voices on Apple TV. Multiple iPhones can join in for shared playlists, emoji reactions, and real-time lyrics — now with Lyrics Translation and Pronunciation for multilingual fun.

FaceTime Enhancements

Stay connected with more personalized FaceTime experiences on Apple TV. New features include Contact Posters, Live Captions in multiple languages, and on-screen call notifications for the active profile — all integrated with iPhone and HomePod for seamless communication.

More Visuals and Audio Flexibility

  • Discover new Aerial screen savers from India, including Goa and Kerala

  • Customize screen savers by theme (Cityscape, Underwater, etc.)

  • Set any AirPlay-enabled speaker as the default for Apple TV

Availability

Developers can test tvOS 26 now via the Apple Developer Program. A public beta will launch next month, with the full release coming this fall as a free update.
