These iPhones, iPads, and Macs May Not Support iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS 26

As Apple gears up to unveil iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and macOS 26 at WWDC 2025 next week, reports suggest some older devices will lose support. Here's what you need to know if you're wondering whether your iPhone, iPad, or Mac will make the cut.
iPhones That May Lose iOS 26 Support
According to early rumors, iOS 26 is expected to drop support for the following models:
- iPhone XS
- iPhone XS Max
- iPhone XR
These devices were released in 2018, and their removal would mark a shift as Apple pushes forward with newer hardware capabilities.
iPadOS 26 May Drop This iPad
The only iPad rumored to lose support with iPadOS 26 is iPad (7th generation)
Released in 2019, this budget-friendly iPad could be the lone model left behind in the latest update.
macOS 26 Might Drop These Macs
Several Intel-based Macs may no longer be compatible with macOS 26:
- MacBook Air (2020, Intel)
- MacBook Pro (2018)
- Mac mini (2018)
- iMac Pro (2017)
As Apple transitions fully to Apple Silicon, older Intel Macs continue to fall off the support list.
Some Devices May Miss Out on New Features
Even if your device remains supported, it may not receive all the new features. As seen with iOS 18, only newer iPhones gained access to Apple Intelligence, leaving many users without key enhancements.
