Some iOS 26 Features are Still in the Pipeline and Unannounced

Apple may have kept a few surprises up its sleeve following WWDC. According to the Power On newsletter from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, two key iOS 26 features that were heavily rumored ahead of the event are still in development — and they could be released later this year.
1. Live Translation via AirPods
One of the standout features still in the works is real-time language translation through AirPods. This would allow users to carry on conversations in different languages and hear instant translations directly through their AirPods.
While iOS 26 already includes various translation enhancements, this feature would take it a step further by offering a seamless, wearable translation experience.
2. Captive Wi-Fi Sync Across Devices
Another handy feature in the pipeline is captive Wi-Fi syncing. This would allow your Apple devices to remember and share logins for public Wi-Fi networks — like those in hotels or coffee shops — across your entire ecosystem. Log in once on one device, and you’ll be automatically connected on your iPhone, iPad, Mac, and more.
Why the Delay?
Gurman notes that Apple has shifted its strategy and no longer wants to announce features that are months away from being ready. Both features were pulled from the WWDC keynote due to their later rollout schedules.
When to Expect Them
According to the report, these features are expected to arrive in one of the first major iOS 26 updates — either in October’s iOS 26.1 or December’s iOS 26.2, or possibly during a future beta cycle.
Stay tuned — iOS 26 may still have a few surprises left before the year ends.
