PlayStation Adds Apple Pay Support for PS4 and PS5 Store Purchases

Sony has officially rolled out Apple Pay support for PlayStation Store purchases on both the PS4 and PS5, making it easier and more secure for users to buy games and add-ons directly from their console.
Seamless Checkout with Apple Devices
The new Apple Pay feature allows users to check out from the PlayStation Store using their iPhone or iPad. When selecting Apple Pay at checkout, the console displays an Apple-designed QR code, which can be scanned using the Wallet app. The purchase is then authenticated using Face ID or Touch ID.
Powered by iOS 18
Apple added support for this type of QR-based payment system in iOS 18, allowing it to work not only in apps and Safari but also in third-party browsers like Chrome and Firefox.
A Convenient and Secure Option
Apple Pay joins PayPal and credit/debit cards as available payment methods on PlayStation consoles. With biometric authentication and no need to manually enter card details, Apple Pay offers a more secure and streamlined checkout experience.
