iPhone Fold Rumors Hint at Lower Price and Ultra-Thin Design

As Apple gears up for the iPhone 17 launch this fall, excitement is already building for next year’s highly anticipated foldable iPhone. New reports suggest Apple may price the iPhone Fold lower than expected while also delivering the company’s slimmest device yet.
Price May Drop Below $2,000
According to a UBS report highlighted by Fortune, Apple’s foldable iPhone might land closer to $1,800—significantly less than earlier estimates of $2,000 to $2,500 from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Although pricing remains speculative, new stages in development may be giving analysts better insight.
Thinner Than Any Apple Product Yet
Fresh details from leaker Instant Digital claim the iPhone Fold will measure just 4.8mm when open. That would make it thinner than Apple’s current slimmest device—the 5.1mm iPad Pro with M4 chip—and support earlier predictions from Kuo that it could range between 4.5mm and 4.8mm.
What This Means
If the latest reports are accurate, Apple’s foldable will be thinner when unfolded but still thicker when closed than Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold7. With production reportedly progressing, expectations are rising for a foldable iPhone that’s both cutting-edge and more accessible in price.
