iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max & Fold to Launch With 2nm A20 Chip

Apple is set to make a major leap in iPhone performance and efficiency with the iPhone 18 Pro Series, and the all-new iPhone 18 Fold, expected to launch in September 2026. According to analyst Jeff Pu, these flagship devices will feature the A20 chip, built on TSMC’s second-generation 2nm (N2) process.

A20 Chip: Faster, Smaller, More Efficient

Compared to the upcoming A19 chip, the A20 is expected to deliver up to 15% better performance and 30% greater power efficiency, thanks to its smaller transistor size and denser architecture.

Next-Gen WMCM Chip Packaging

A standout feature of the A20 is Wafer-Level Multi-Chip Module (WMCM) technology. This advanced chip design integrates RAM directly with the CPU, GPU, and Neural Engine at the wafer level, improving speed, thermal performance, and battery life while reducing the chip's footprint.

Optimized for Apple Intelligence

The A20’s design is also expected to enhance on-device AI performance, powering new Apple Intelligence features with faster, more energy-efficient processing.

With cutting-edge 2nm architecture and innovative chip packaging, the A20 chip sets the stage for a major upgrade in Apple's 2026 iPhone lineup.
