iPhone 17 Display Sizes: What’s Changing in 2025

Apple's upcoming iPhone 17 lineup will bring notable changes to screen sizes, especially for the base model and the all-new iPhone 17 Air. According to display analyst Ross Young, Apple is making room for new dimensions in its flagship lineup.

The standard iPhone 17 will get a slight size bump, moving from 6.12 inches to 6.27 inches—the same as the iPhone 16 Pro. Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 Air, set to replace the Plus model, will feature a 6.55-inch display, a bit smaller than the 6.7-inch iPhone 16 Plus.

Here’s the full lineup:

  • iPhone 17: 6.27-inch display (rounded to 6.3")
  • iPhone 17 Air: 6.55-inch display (rounded to 6.6")
  • iPhone 17 Pro: 6.27-inch display (same as iPhone 16 Pro)
  • iPhone 17 Pro Max: 6.86-inch display (rounded to 6.9")

While the iPhone 17 may see the fewest design changes, retaining the same rear camera look, it’s still in for meaningful upgrades. These include a smoother 120Hz ProMotion display, a 24MP front camera, and Apple’s next-gen A19 chip.

With new sizes and refreshed hardware across the board, the iPhone 17 family is shaping up to offer more variety and performance than ever before.
