iPhone 17 Air Design Leak: Ultra-Thin Model—Dummy Spotted in China

In a surprising twist, dummy units of the rumored iPhone 17 Air have surfaced in a Chinese Apple Store, reportedly crafted from leaked CAD models shared by MajinBu. The model displayed in a recent video posted by MajinBu, shows off a dramatically thinner design—just 5.5 mm in most of the body.
What really stands out is the Google Pixel-style camera bar, which juts out to an estimated 8.5 mm, creating a striking contrast with the slim frame. The iPhone 17 Air’s unique look and ultra-thin profile signal a new design direction for Apple, distinct from the rest of the upcoming iPhone 17 lineup.

While it's unclear why a pre-release model is being shown in-store—something highly uncharacteristic for Apple—it has added serious weight to the earlier design leaks. Whether this was a sanctioned preview or a rogue move by a staff member, it has certainly sparked buzz.
The iPhone 17 Air is expected to debut in September 2025. If this leak holds true, Apple could redefine what an "Air" device means.
