iOS 26 Solves Major Passkey Problem

Apple is finally fixing one of the biggest passkey frustrations: the inability to move them across platforms.

With iOS 26, macOS Tahoe, iPadOS 26, and visionOS 26, users can securely import and export passkeys, passwords, and codes between apps and devices—even outside Apple’s ecosystem (Windows, Android, or even some third-party credential managers).

Thanks to the FIDO Alliance, the transfers are end-to-end encrypted, require Face ID/Touch ID, and don’t use risky export files.

This long-awaited feature makes passkeys truly portable—no more feeling locked into Apple just for your credentials.
