Apple Releases iOS 26.1 Beta 3 for Developers

Apple has rolled out iOS 26.1 beta 3, the latest developer version of its upcoming iPhone software update. iOS 26.1 is the first major follow-up to iOS 26 and is expected to arrive for all users by late October or early November.


Expanded Apple Intelligence Language Support

Apple continues to grow its Apple Intelligence capabilities with broader language support. The latest beta adds:

  • Chinese (Traditional)
  • Danish
  • Dutch
  • Norwegian
  • Portuguese (Portugal)
  • Swedish
  • Turkish
  • Vietnamese

This expansion makes Apple Intelligence more accessible to users worldwide.


AirPods Live Translation Gets Smarter

The AirPods Live Translation feature, introduced with iOS 26, also gains new languages. It now supports:

  • Chinese (Mandarin Simplified and Traditional)
  • Italian
  • Japanese
  • Korean

These join the existing lineup of English (US/UK), French, German, Portuguese (Brazil), and Spanish (Spain).


Other New Features and Tweaks

iOS 26.1 brings several smaller refinements, including:

  • A new “Slide to Unlock” interface for dismissing alarms
  • A swipe gesture in the Music app to quickly change songs
  • Additional performance and stability improvements

Expected Release

iOS 26.1 is currently in testing and should be publicly released by early November, bringing expanded language features and quality-of-life updates to millions of iPhone users.
