Apple Introduces MagSafe Battery for iPhone Air

Apple has unveiled a refreshed MagSafe Battery, designed exclusively for the all-new iPhone Air. While it doesn’t support the broader iPhone 17 lineup, the accessory brings a few interesting perks.

Boosting iPhone Air’s Battery Life

Apple says the MagSafe Battery can extend the iPhone Air’s battery life by up to 65%, making it the longest-lasting iPhone when paired together. Despite the slim profile of the iPhone Air, the add-on doesn’t add too much extra bulk or weight.

Why It Only Works With iPhone Air

Unlike Apple’s earlier MagSafe Battery, which worked across multiple iPhone models, this version is shaped specifically for the iPhone Air. The larger camera bumps on iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro prevent proper alignment, making them incompatible.

More Than Just an iPhone Battery

The new MagSafe Battery comes with a USB-C port, letting it double as a small external power bank. While its capacity is modest, it can top up USB-C accessories or even other devices in a pinch.
