Apple Commits $600 Billion to U.S., Launches American Manufacturing Program

Apple has announced a major expansion of its U.S. investments, increasing its commitment to $600 billion over four years. A key part of this investment is the launch of the American Manufacturing Program (AMP), aimed at strengthening domestic manufacturing and supply chains.

Boosting U.S. Jobs and Innovation
Apple's latest plan includes:
- 20,000 new direct hires in the U.S.
- Support for 450,000+ jobs across all 50 states.
- Expansion in states like Arizona, Texas, California, Kentucky, and North Carolina.
- Focus on R&D, AI, silicon engineering, and software development.
American Manufacturing Program (AMP)
The AMP will accelerate Apple’s partnerships with key suppliers, including:
- Corning – building the world’s largest smartphone glass line in Kentucky.
- Coherent – expanding VCSEL laser tech in Texas.
- MP Materials – supplying U.S.-made rare earth magnets from Texas and California.
Building a U.S. Silicon Supply Chain
Apple is helping create a complete silicon ecosystem in the U.S. by:
- Partnering with TSMC, Texas Instruments, Samsung, GlobalFoundries, and more.
- Targeting the production of 19 billion chips for Apple devices in 2025.
- Investing in chip packaging with Amkor in Arizona and wafer production with GWA in Texas.
Data Centers and Manufacturing Expansion
Key facility projects include:
- A new Apple server factory in Houston, launching mass production in 2026.
- Expansion of data centers in North Carolina, Iowa, Nevada, and Oregon.
- A second Apple campus in Austin, adding over 1 million sq. ft. of space.
- Apple Manufacturing Academy launching in Detroit on August 19 to train small and mid-sized businesses.
