Apple Brings Self Service Repair to iPads
Apple is expanding its Self Service Repair program to include iPads. Originally launched for iPhones in 2022 and extended to MacBooks in 2023, the program now supports a selection of recent iPad models.

Supported iPad Models
The expansion covers:
- iPad Air (M2 and later)
- iPad Pro (M4)
- iPad mini (A17 Pro)
- iPad (A16)
Users will be able to access repair manuals, purchase genuine Apple parts, and use Apple’s tools or rent a toolkit. Components include displays, batteries, cameras, and external charging ports.
Repair Access Grows
With this update, Apple says 65 products are now covered under the program, available across 33 countries. Canada is expected to join later this summer.
New: Genuine Parts Distributor Program
Apple is also expanding access for independent repair providers through the Genuine Parts Distributor program. Businesses without a direct Apple relationship can now order parts via third-party suppliers like MobileSentrix in the U.S. and Europe.
Apple’s Repair Commitment
Apple emphasizes that its goal is to make long-lasting products and to support customers in extending the life of their devices. With more repair options and broader access to parts, Apple continues to grow its repair ecosystem while addressing right-to-repair demands.
