Apple’s First Foldable iPhone Coming in 2026

Apple is set to launch its first foldable iPhone in 2026, with a foldable iPad expected to follow in 2028, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
Foldable iPhone Plans
The foldable iPhone will debut as part of the iPhone 18 lineup. Apple plans to ship 8–10 million units in its first year, with sales potentially reaching 25 million in 2027. The device will use ultra-thin cover glass developed by Corning, with finishing work handled by General Interface Solutions.
Foldable iPad in 2028
Two years later, Apple is expected to introduce a larger foldable iPad with a display size between 18 and 20 inches when unfolded. While versatile, it will likely be priced much higher than the foldable iPhone, making it a more niche product.
What This Means for Apple
Apple’s foldable strategy flips earlier expectations, as reports once suggested the foldable iPad or MacBook would arrive first. By starting with the iPhone, Apple aims to tap into strong demand before moving to larger-screen foldables.
