Amazon Can Now Deliver iPhones by Drone

High-Tech Delivery Takes Off

Amazon has received approval from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to expand its Prime Air drone delivery service to include Apple products like iPhones, AirPods, and AirTags. If you’re in parts of Phoenix, Arizona, or College Station, Texas, your next Apple device could arrive by air—in under an hour.

How It Works

Customers can choose drone delivery at checkout, selecting a drop-off point such as a driveway or backyard. The MK30 drone descends to about 13 feet, confirms the area is clear of people, pets, or vehicles, and safely drops off the package.

What’s Eligible?

More than 60,000 items are now available via drone, including Apple products, Samsung Galaxy devices, and Amazon’s own Ring doorbells. Each delivery is limited to one item weighing five pounds or less, and only occurs in daylight and favorable weather conditions.

What’s Next?

While still limited to two US cities, Amazon plans to expand drone delivery both domestically and internationally, including the UK and Italy, pending regulatory approval. This marks a major step forward in tech-enabled logistics, just in time for your next iPhone upgrade.
